Chapter 26: Sweet Nightmare

You came into my dream
With that tender smile,
With those alluring eyes
Without invitation.

In my peaceful slumber,
You recast me in your spells,
Of your childish giggles,
Of your innocent words,
Of your promises,
That you would be the world,
That I wanted it to be,
Only for me.

But in my anxious awakening,
You’re gone like you’re supposed to,
Your scent still,
lingers between my fingers,
And your voice still
echoed within bones and veins,
And your love still,
Weaved and sewn to this soul,
And to the remnants of it.

Return the time that you have wasted,
Return the pieces that you have taken,
Return the world I have created,
Return the love that you have forsaken.
